Summary of Dr. Mahmood Kazim’s Message
Dr. Mahmood Kazim writes that his long-held dream was finally fulfilled with the completion of the Nasser Abdullatif Institute of Technology, which became part of the Muslim Vithaya School complex in Phuket. The project, costing 4.5 million Baht, was generously sponsored by Mr. Nasser Abdullatif Aserkal from Dubai. Construction began in July 1989 and took 16 months to complete.
He expresses deep sorrow over the passing of Mr. Nasser Aserkal on 1 April 1990 (6 Ramadan 1410 AH). He praises him as a compassionate philanthropist whose charitable work reached people across America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, the Gulf, Asia, and the Far East, and prays that Allah grants him Jannah (Paradise).
Dr. Kazim explains that after successfully building:
- Muslim Vithaya School,
- Dubai Mosque,
- Darul Eitam (Orphanage),
he wanted to establish a technical school so Muslim students could receive vocational education and obtain stable employment. When he proposed the idea to Mr. Nasser Aserkal, Mr. Aserkal immediately agreed to finance it.
To provide long-term financial support for the school, two townhouses and a plot of land were purchased in Phuket. A 28-unit apartment building was later constructed on that land (1987–1988), generating approximately 780,000 Baht per year in rental income to help fund the Muslim Vithaya School complex.
Dr. Kazim also highlights the wider charitable projects supported in Thailand, including:
- Schools
- Mosques
- Technical schools
- Boys’ and girls’ dormitories
- Scholarships in medicine and dentistry
These projects extended from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Phang Nga, Hat Yai, and Songkhla. He states that since 1985, the total value of these charitable works was nearly 60 million Baht, with Mr. Nasser Aserkal being the principal contributor.
He concludes by expressing his hope that all committees responsible for these charitable projects throughout Thailand will continue working together with unity, progress, and success.
Main Message
Dr. Mahmood Kazim wanted to honor Mr. Nasser Abdullatif Aserkal as the principal donor whose generosity made the Institute of Technology and many other charitable projects possible. He emphasized that education, vocational training, and sustainable funding were essential to helping Muslim communities become self-reliant, and he prayed that Mr. Aserkal’s legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
Founder’s Statement
My name is Miss Tuanusanee (Alice), and I am the founder and representative of Muslim Wittaya School and the Dubai Foundation in Phuket, Thailand.
Muslim Wittaya School was established by my mother, Mrs. Jeerapa Rattakul, with the vision and generous support of the founder of the Dubai Foundation. The school provides quality education from kindergarten through Grade 12, preparing students with strong academic knowledge, moral values, and a commitment to serving society.
Today, I am honored to continue my mother’s mission and fulfill the vision entrusted to our family by the founder of the Dubai Foundation. Our long-term objective is to establish an internationally recognized Medical University, School of Nursing, and Healthcare Education Center, together with hospitals and patient-care facilities dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare and humanitarian services.
The Dubai Foundation awards scholarships to outstanding graduates of Muslim Wittaya School, enabling them to pursue higher education at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Upon graduation, scholarship recipients are expected to return to Thailand to serve the Dubai Foundation and contribute their expertise to our educational, medical, and humanitarian programs.
Our future university will provide undergraduate education with a strong emphasis on medicine, nursing, healthcare sciences, rehabilitation, elderly care, and patient support. The curriculum will combine academic excellence with practical professional training to prepare graduates to meet international healthcare standards.
Our vision extends beyond Thailand. We aspire to educate compassionate and highly qualified healthcare professionals who will serve hospitals, healthcare organizations, humanitarian institutions, and communities around the world. Through education, research, and patient care, we hope to improve lives, reduce suffering, and contribute to a healthier global society.
We warmly welcome partnerships with universities, hospitals, healthcare organizations, charitable foundations, and international donors who share our commitment to education, medical innovation, and humanitarian service. Together, we can build a lasting legacy that empowers future generations and delivers quality healthcare to people worldwide.
